How the monthly challenge works
Each calendar month (UTC: a new one starts at 10 am on the 1st in Brisbane), everyone gets the same starting company and the same luck: the same clients, job offers, candidates, breakdowns and disasters. You have 24 months of game time. The score at the final bell is what counts. If the bank closes you down, or you retire early from the pause menu, that's your final bell: the score so far counts, and the board says when it ended.
The score
- Company value: cash, minus loans, plus half of what your rooms and equipment cost, plus any land you bought.
- Reputation: 1,500 points per reputation point.
- Track record: points for every job delivered, more for harder tiers (2,000 at Tier 1 up to 120,000 at Tier 6), minus 5,000 for every job failed or cancelled.
- Tiers: 50,000 for every tier you reach after the first.
So borrowing doesn't help by itself (loans are taken off), and a pile of half-used equipment only counts at half price. Deliver good work, keep clients happy, and grow.
Company tournaments
Pick your company when you submit and the board can be filtered by it. When it's filtered to a group of companies (like the CircuitWise Group), the companies are ranked against each other too: a company's score is its best three players' runs this month added up. Each player counts once, with their best run, so one keen player can't carry a company alone; a company with fewer than three players adds up what it has. On the all-time board it's each player's best month instead.
Fair play
The game is deterministic: the same moves from the same start always give the same result. When you submit, the game sends the list of moves you made, and a checker replays them from the start of the month. If the replay reaches your score it gets a ✓; if it doesn't, the score is hidden. Pausing and game speed don't matter, only what you did and when.
You can play the challenge as often as you like; your best score on the device is kept.
